Trakx Joins the Canton Network to Issue CTI Tokens

We are proud to announce that Trakx has officially joined the Canton Network as a node operator. This milestone marks a decisive step forward in our mission to democratize access to advanced crypto index strategies by issuing our Crypto Tradable Indices (CTI) as on-chain tokens within an institutional-grade blockchain ecosystem.
By joining the network, Trakx becomes part of a growing community of over 600 ecosystem participants. As a node operator, Trakx gains the ability to create and manage applications within the Canton ecosystem.
What is Canton Network?
Canton Network is where the power of global finance meets the real value of blockchain on the only public chain with privacy that works at scale. Trusted by leading institutions such as Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas, DTCC, Broadridge, and Circle, Canton is where real-world finance and institutional-grade crypto converge on regulatory-grade rails to mobilize and exchange assets 24/7, with atomic settlement and configurable privacy, ensuring that transactions are only visible on a need-to-know basis.
It is the first and only open network where traditional finance and crypto capital markets converge with institutional-grade privacy, interoperability, and compliance. This gives institutions the confidence to bring their most valuable assets on-chain.
Unlike permissionless chains that compromise on privacy, or closed private systems that limit interoperability, Canton offers the best of both:
- Privacy by design: Participants disclose only what is required to authorized parties, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while safeguarding sensitive data.
- Blockchain interoperability: Independent applications can transact seamlessly and simultaneously, eliminating settlement risk. For example, a digital bond and a stablecoin payment can be exchanged atomically in one transaction.
- Institutional-grade governance: Each subnet retains its own rules and controls, while the Canton Global Synchronizer ensures consistent, secure, and decentralized coordination across the network.
- Scalability and resilience: Built on the Daml smart-contract language, Canton is designed to support complex financial applications at scale, without the trade-offs that limit adoption elsewhere.
Why this matters for Trakx
Joining Canton is far more than a technical integration. It positions us to align our CTIs with the same infrastructure that global banks, custodians, and market utilities are now adopting. Specifically, we will be able to:
- Issue CTI tokens natively on Canton: This brings our crypto index products into an environment where interoperability, compliance, and privacy are not afterthoughts but core features.
- Access institutional liquidity: Canton has already demonstrated the ability to settle regulated assets, such as U.S. Treasury repos, atomically with stablecoins, proving the potential for 24/7 liquidity and real-time settlement. Bringing CTIs into this environment will expand their reach and usability.
- Strengthen trust and transparency: Canton’s permissioned model ensures that every interaction with CTIs respects both regulatory requirements and investor privacy. This is key for bridging institutional and retail markets.
- Benefit from the incentive model: As a node operator, we participate in securing the network and get rewarded with the Canton Coin, the network’s utility token, which powers synchronizer traffic and rewards contributors. This reinforces the sustainability and profitability of our role within the ecosystem.
- Collaborate across an ecosystem: With more than 100 global organizations already involved, Canton is a fertile ground for collaboration. By issuing CTIs here, we open new opportunities for partnerships, integrations, and innovation.
Next steps
As we move forward, we will begin issuing CTI tokens on Canton and explore integrations with other applications on the network. This is only the beginning of a journey that will redefine how investors, both institutional and retail, engage with diversified crypto strategies.
Lionel Rebibo, CEO & Co-founder of Trakx, said: “By joining the Canton Network, we are taking our CTIs into an environment that finally mirrors how institutions need blockchain to work: privacy-preserving, interoperable, and scalable. This allows us to bridge traditional finance and digital assets while staying true to our mission of making advanced strategies simple and accessible for all.”
